When Esme and Elliot’s relationship has gone a bit to far and David witness the whole thing! I believe that is part of what helps Esme see Elliot for who he truly is. And Wow! I just am so happy on how Esme trusts herself and how she ends up managing her situation with Elliot! The Hunters seem to be a continuing thread throughout the books. Each book brings the mystery closer to being solved. While Steff and April finally work things out between them, the story continues. Finally, the third thing I genuinely adored was the friend brigade surrounding Esme. Her supports were decent and good people. I really liked how they rallied around her when she needed "a shoulder to cry on."

It is sooo sweet when David realise something different in Esme. Without Esme realise she little bit teritory to David and David very jealous man lol, but he put boundry and think Esme off limit only partner business. The male protagonist in this book is Steffen James, a bear shifter who had played professional baseball until a devastating injury finished his career. Although as such he healed within a matter of weeks, all the doctors he had seen immediately after the injury pronounced that he would never recover enough to play again. To protect his shifter identity, he was forced to walk away from his career, but he coached a little league team which included Aiden as one of the players. He and April had dated throughout high school, but he broke it off with her when he left for college, which had broken her heart. Katie keeps trying to introduce Louisa to Dan, but things keep coming up. Also, Louise won’t let Katie into her house. An ex moves in next door to get close to the one who got away. She sets her traps and of course the clueless husband and wife team just idiotically walk right into them. Katie has a dinner party while Louisa makes some more carpet cleaner smoothie and then arrives fashionably late. While Dan is doing the dishes Louisa caresses him from behind. Katie catches them and assumes her husband is cheating. Katie leaves and goes to stay with her friend. (who is pointless in this movie.) Dan is left by himself with Louisa, he slams the door in her face. Meanwhile, Geena and Elise get into an altercation in the woods. Geena continues to pressure Elise on her feeling about Lee. She is paranoid that her husband is still in love with Elise. and then her sudden realisation one day confused me further. like HOW can you tell me that she’s had feelings all these while? like there was no indication whatsoever except for that they were terrifyingly in tune—which i found it super adorable.

Turns out, I was wrong for assuming he was the main love interest! I was appreciative of the fact that Esme and Elliot were not endgame, and I liked who the love interest ended up being. However, I think in her attempt to create a twist, I didn't really feel like there was a progressive build-up of chemistry between Esme and David, and so their romance fell a little flat. I think I would have appreciated a more progressive shift in their dynamic. After Katie falls off her bike, Dan and Louisa finally meet. It is pretty uneventful except that Katie is rushed to the hospital from her bike fall. Katie scolds Dan for not being more friendly to Louisa.

Rate And Review

There are two things I want to write about that brought my rating from a 4 to a 3. But first, I want to talk about the things I loved. April found success as a super model. Now she’s returned home to hide out and let the bad press die down after her ex released horrible stories and pictures of her. I totally loved this book! There was romance, humour, sadness, even a bit suspense! I really enjoyed it. Well written and easy to engage with the characters!
