I also really loved their cooperation with each other. Violet wasn't the only patient one, Nash was as well. He tried his best to be the guy Violet deserved, he went out of his comfort zone and even tried opening up little by little so there would be no fatal mistakes again. The whole aspect of Nash only loving her and only showing himself to her was one of the best parts of this book, I couldn't get enough of it. Please note: This listing is for the published, revised version of Offside only as there will be some substantial edits and changes.

There were a lot of parts that just never came to fruition. He never ever meets her parents, but does something pretty big to help them. Even in the epilogue there is no mention of ever meeting them. This was so odd to me. Like at what point does it get only a little exiting? All I’m asking for it a 0.5 effort. Chase loans her family money and he has to make it up for her. “You know, I’m pretty mad” bailey says as she smiles. NOT EVEN A THANK YOU. She never tried to get a job, she just kept drinking her vanilla latte and let chase pay for everything while using a victim coat every chance she could get. This is not what i look for or want to recognize in a female character. Like the bar for her was so low, everything made her sad and she needed to be taken care of etc etc. that’s usually something i would enjoy in a book, even prefer. So use your fantasy to imagine how tame it was handled in this book. God was it traumatizing to read. Anything traumatized this girl, willingly going into a sex store? Left a dent in her soul apparently. She was just so boring in the relationship. Nothing exciting ever. Nash Richards was my first everything. First boyfriend, first time, first love. First heartbreak, too. The conflict was not threaded throughout the plot enough. It would be non existent and then, bam, a chapter with one of the exes, and then they would go away and all would be well. The build of the conflict needed to start earlier and have a better build up. Because so much of the book was them in their happy phase, a lot of it read like we were just following along on their daily lives, little to no plot, character or relationship development.

I also didn’t like how there were so many loose ends with Luke. Like wtf did he even want? He dumped her? Why was he stalking her, what was his motivation to split them up? More insight on that situation would have been good. Authors, if you are a member of the Goodreads Author Program, you can edit information about your own books. Find out how in this guide. Their story is cute, the banter between them is hilarious, and the spice is 👌🏻, but the book took a hot minute to get into and I almost DNF. Plus the whole Luke/Kristen drama was a little over the top for me, and felt too drawn out. Overall though, I ended up loving it once it

Before we know it, the boundaries begin to blur until we can’t see them anymore. But with so much on the line, I'm risking a lot more than just my heart this time. However, fate seems to conspire against her as she is assigned to have her senior athletic internship with her ex’s team. She will now be working closely with Nash, the only man she ever loved but who had left her in a heap in her freshman year. For example, there was no “he smiles for the first time” moment OR “i haven’t heard him laugh before bc he’s so grumpy but now he is and it’s magical” moment EITHER.Violet deserves an award for being the most patient person. She was very mature which was a nice change of pace. Her little white lie puts her in the crosshairs of Satan in a suit in the name of Bennet Bradford. He is a handsome man with a rough heart and she learned this the hard way. Oohh, where to begin, where to begin. I think I'll start off by saying that this was a good book. It's a great book, and I cannot be more thankful to have received an ARC to read it a bit earlier than everyone. This was one of those books that once you were hooked in, you could not put it down. I really really found it hard to put down but at the same time, I wanted to put it down because I didn't want it to be over. There was mention of Bailey having trouble having Os. His response was amazing, but I expected this to play out in the bedroom, but nope. Immediately orgasming with him every single time. I really wanted it to happen because we never ever see this. Women don’t always have orgasms or struggle to have them, and it would have been so amazing to see this in a book. i’ve been living my best life with a massive headache. in other words: a dry spell, a book slump, that doesn’t want to quit no matter what.
